EREMUA IRATI SINGLETRACKS
MAGIA NATURAL EREMUA-IRATI is an All Mountain in stages cycling route. It is located in the West of the Pyrenean mountain range, in what is known as the Basque Pyrenees, and joins the MTB and Trail Center EREMUA, located in the valley of Esteribar, with the Irati Forest.
Framed between the large wooded masses of Irati in the East and Anué in the West, a segment of the PYRENEES of low altitude makes its presence, with a landscape easily recognizable by its characteristic succession of beech trees, meadows, flocks, soft peaks, some rocky places, shepherds' huts and mountain villages located on relatively high elevations.
The combination of natural resources and low altitude has led to this being a highly humanized territory since ancient times and - what matters most to us - covered by many trails.
The legacy of the paths arising from pastoral activity, the use of the forest, smuggling and the transit of people outside the law, has generated what without exaggeration we could call a "microclimate" for mountain biking.
If we add to this "microclimate" the work done in the area by the EREMUA Trail and BTT Center, and especially that one of local bikers who altruistically are involved in the maintenance, creation and recovery of trails for this new use of cycling and hiking in a territory that they perceive as "exclusive", the "natural" result is:
MAGIA NATURAL.

MAGIA NATURAL vs BASOAK MTB
Clarification for those who know the area and may have confusion when visualizing that this 2 routes share territory.
The difference between BASOAK MTB and MAGIA NATURAL is that the 1st one extends over a wider territory that corresponds to the wooded area of the North of Navarra, and that currently can have up to 8 stages, while the 2nd is included in the 1st and it is concentrated in the specific and most central section of the Navarrese Pyrenees between the Selvas de Irati and the Quinto Real.
On the other hand, MAGIA NATURAL has a maximum of 4 stages and only 2 hotels are used, one in the EREMUA area and the other in the IRATI area.

This data is just a mere reference to help you get an idea of the possibilities. For some of the stages we have up to 10 track versions depending on the accommodation, the desired hardness and -when possible- the type of cycling that best suits yours; Enduro, All Mountain, Trail ...
The antiquity of the Navarrese Pyrenees with respect to the rest of the mountain range is the cause of those soft and hilly forms -simply more eroded by the elements- that give way to the "potential" of MAGIA NATURAL.
Stage A:Circular Eremua / Eugi
Distance: 47 / 53 km Unevenness: 1.425 / 1.525 m
EREMUA is the "Zona Cero" of mountain biking in NAVARRA, a MTB Center with paths carefully prepared by a team of enthusiastic Navarrese "bikers".
MAGIA NATURAL Stage A gives the option of spending a day touring the best SingleTracks in the area before leaving for IRATI the next day.
Depending on your profile we will advise you one track or another. It will be really difficult to be disappointed ... jumps, slopes, easy routes, hard routes and spectacular chains are just waiting.

Stage B:Eremua - Burguete / Irati
Distance: 41 / 56 km Unevenness: 1.685 / 1.960 m
Forest paths, usual in valley bottoms
"Fauna" typical and abundant in the environment. With us we are all already.
Maximum expression of the Navarre "flow" on the northern face of the Adi Mountain
Col de Aratun, geographical reference of the Adi massif.

Stage C:Circular Irati
Distance: 63 / 67 km Unevenness: 1.210 / 1.510 m
The stage covers almost the entire Abodi Range. This often becomes the limit of the "hat" of clouds that emerges from the northern slope.
In order to reach the Tapla Mountain Pass and finally climb to the top of the Abodi Range, we will have to overcome demanding stretches of cattle tracks.
When the foggy "hat" makes an appearance the landscape changes.
During a short section of the track, over the Tapla Mountain Pass, we will have to push our bikes.
On the slopes of Pico Idorrokia we can keep pedaling.

Depending on the sporting level of the participants, the route can be lengthened and the accommodation in Burguete replaced by the one in the Larraun neighborhood, closer to IRATI. In this option of MAGIA NATURAL, stages B and D -especially the last one- are quite demanding in terms of sports and you will have to be well trained to finish them in good condition.

- Best time to go: The route can be done at any time of the year except in winter.
Summer and autumn are usually the most pleasant seasons; in the spring there may be mud at certain points of the route. In any case, we have to say that the punctual weather of the days in which we are going to make the route is more important than the time itself.
At the end of Autumn the days are short, but more than enough for our purpose. The Quinto Real and Irati forests "burn" with reds and ochres in those days, and the experience of pedaling during the day and taking a walk at sunset in that sea of colors reinforces the experience. - Type of tracks: In general, trails and tracks with more physical than technical demand, both uphill and downhill.
For the technically demanding sections - that sometimes there are - we offer alternative tracks, although the simplest way not to distort the route is to get off the bike. - Ideal bike: Any mountain bike.
- Orientation: The route must be followed with a GPS device or with the mobile phone App that you are used to using for the same purpose.
It is not advisable to try to learn how to use an App on the fly.
We do not provide Apps or GPS user manuals. It is up to the users to have this knowledge.
There is no on-site signage. - Ciclability: Depending on the technical skills and the strengths of each one, the route is 98% cyclable.
- Philosophy: The route is designed so that the stages can be completed and we still have a large part of the day to enjoy the place where we are.
- Provisioning: Although sometimes we find refreshment points, depending on the time of the year we can find that some establishments are closed. In the services waypoint file that we deliver at the beginning of the route the information of each stage is given.

This results in less hustle for both participants and hoteliers and in a lower cost of the luggage transport service and therefore of the Pack when the number of participants is low.
