For each of these routes we have options of different lengths and styles.
If the term STAGE confuses you, it simply indicates that in the proposal the accommodation is always the same. In other words, all the stages start from the same hotel where we stayed.
If you want to extend your vacation, you can combine different STAGES until you achieve the desired number of days.

El BIKE STAGE BAZTAN-BAZTAN se desarrolla en una de la comarcas turisticamente más conocidas de Navarra, el VALLE del BAZTAN.
Nos encontrarémos en el mismo una geofrafía de apariencia suave y acolchonada por los helechos que se intercalan regularmente entre prados y bosques, pero con desniveles importantes, pues sus cotas fluctuan de los 100 a los 1.100 metros de altitud.
Tendrémos la oportunidad de recorrer 3 zonas geográficas bien diferenciadas.

Zona 1: Baztan Norte y montes de Dantxarienea/Urdax
Hemos diseñado diferentes variaciones de ruta que oscilan entre los 34 kms de recorrido y 885 ms de desnivel de la opción más suave a los 52 kms y 1.570 ms de la más exigente.
Vaca & Bikers. Baztan en el más puro estílo.
Vista sobre el Valle de Aritzakun, rincones escondidos o casí "Navarra profunda". Toponímia con fuerza sonora en este area; Aritzakun, Urritzate, Arizkun, Bozate...

El descenso a Dantxarienea desde la cima de Gorospil por la cresta de la imagen, es la "guinda" de las etapas en esta zona cuando la ruta alcanza la comarca de Xareta, justo al norte del BAZTAN.

Zona 2: Baztan Sur y Este.
Hemos diseñado diferentes variaciones de ruta que oscilan entre los 25 kms de recorrido y 940 ms de desnivel de la opción más suave a los 68 kms y 2.350 ms de la FULL.
Dura subida, con algún tramo de "peaje" -empujar bici- en el ascenso a la fronteriza cadena de montañas que cierra el Valle de Baztan por el este.
A menudo dudaremos si los "bichos" que vemos son ovejas o sarrios.

Las etapas que ascienden a la línea fronteriza en el este del Valle coinciden durante varios kilómetros con el trazado del GR®T 5, Kulunka Bidea.
Sucesión de collados en la línea de la divisoria fronteriza. Testigos mudos de la prolongada actividad contrabandística de la zona. En la imagen, Ehiartza.
Llegada al Collado de Berdaritz, paso habitual en las transpirenaicas de BTT por la vertiente norte.
A caballo entre el Baztan y el vasco / francés valle de KINTOA, el Collado de Berdaritz se erige como máximo representante del paso clandestino de personas por la línea fronteriza en épocas convulsas, especialmente en la Segunda guerra mundial. Zona 3: Comarcas de Malerreka, Bidasoa y Parque Natural de Bertiz.
Las diferentes variaciones de rutas para esta Zona 3 oscilan entre los 38 kms de recorrido y 1.045 ms de desnivel de la opción media, a los rodadores 61 kms y 1.065 ms de la más larga.
Últimos rayos del día en las cimas de BAZTAN - MALERREKA.
Los ritos de brujería siguen siendo una constante en el BAZTAN.

- Ideal bike: The Stages are offered for different types of MTB, so obviously the ideal bike will be the one that best suits the style you choose.
- Best time to go: The route can be done once the snow disappears in the highest mountains of the route. From there, we dare not say that one era is better than another. It really depends on the specific weather of the days we choose.
Do not underestimate the weather, not even in the middle of summer. The conditions -especially in the Pyrenees- can be identical to those of the Central Pyrenees. To summarize... our advice is: bring even the long culotte and if it doesn´t come out from the suitcase, all the better.
In summer it is necessary to be aware of the possibility of storms -frequent in the afternoons-. - Orientation: The route must be followed with a GPS device or with the mobile phone App that you are used to using for the same purpose.
It is not advisable to try to learn how to use an App on the fly.
We do not provide Apps or GPS user manuals. It is up to the users to have this knowledge.
There is no on-site signage. - Provisioning: In most of the stages we will find towns with water and other services without too many difficulties. However, there may be exceptions to take into account.
- Philosophy: The philosophy of the route is to make "sport bicycle touring" but trying that at the end of the day there is still enough energy for something else besides resting until dinner. This is done to allow us at the end to have enough time to be able to learn - even slightly - where we are.

In these proposals when the groups are odd, the accommodation is offered in double rooms and a single room.

General information about the MTB Forests of Navarra BIKE STAGES
The BIKE STAGES Forests of Navarra are a series of MTB Circular Routes - starting and ending in the same hotel - for pedaling through some of the most emblematic sites of the NAVARRE PYRENEES.
The common denominator of all of them is the great wooded mass and the mountain meadows that are interspersed in a sequence -forest/meadow- that will not leave us at any time.
The territories included -all of them in the north of Navarra- are, among others, the Urbasa - Andia Range and the unknown Lokiz in the North. The Aralar Range and the regions of Basaburua and Baztan in the center, and the forests of Quinto Real, Roncesvalles and the Irati Forest in the East.
The PIRINEOS PUNTO BIKE proposal to visit the area is, broadly speaking, a Self-Guided route pack which includes Accommodation, a Map -sketch- of each day´s route, the Tracks of the route for devices GPS, and -most importantly- Counseling on which are the best route options for each day of the STAGE based on your cyclist profile.
The level of demand of the routes -we always talk about MTB routes- is on average what we could call Medium / High level, with all the nuances that said definition hides, and without entering except for rare and warned exceptions in the field of Enduro.
